Indulge in a sumptuous Chinese New Year Eve Reunion Dinner at Courtyard By Marriot Penang on Macalister Road in Penang as it celebrates the year of the dragon with banquet menus comprising popular dishes and free flow of Chinese tea.

We got to sample the Lunar New Year’s Eve Reunion Dinner (RM1688+). Available only on 9th February 2024, the set starts off with the auspicious dragon-shaped Yee Sang. The huge plate made an impressive statement – covered with a selection of vegetables, Mandarin orange, salmon, pomelo, jellyfish, and crackers. Dressed with sauces and crushed nuts, everything comes together nicely with light sweetness from the sauces and crunchiness of the nuts and crackers.
The Chef Special Combinations had five dishes put together. There is plenty to delight, from Chilled Seasonal Baby Octopus, to Deep-Fried Otak Roll, Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts, MaPo Soft Beancurd with Minced Chicken, as well as Oyster Vegetable Roll with Fatt Choy Egg White Sauce.

As for the Stir-fried Prawns with Spicy Oat Flakes, Chef Loon never takes shortcuts. Even with so many large plates of prawns, the chef impress for deveining all the prawns and have the shell removed, with only the tail remaining.

Steamed Chicken with Garden Greens and Soy Sauce came and flavors were delivered with minimum fuss, just emphasizing the taste of the chicken and quality soy sauce.
