Sea, Sun and Sand at Lexis Suites Penang in Teluk Kumbar

I had the chance to visit Lexis Suites Penang, a newly opened five-star beach resort nestled along the idyllic and pristine beach of Teluk Kumbar.
In January 2016, this 222 suites resort opened in this idyllic fishing village on the south of the island, offering two types of suites – Premium Pool Suite & Executive Pool Suite. The hotel’s website is currently running promotions for the Premium Pool Suite at RM450nett while it would be RM350nett for the Executive Pool Suite. Both deals available for the month of March 2016 through the hotel website are inclusive of breakfast for two.
I am sharing with you the Premium Pool Suite life that I experienced during my weekend escape. The suite comes with unobstructed view of Straits of Malacca view and the beautiful scene of sunset.
The suite is generally spacious, with the necessary amenities and two king-sized beds. What I particularly like is the separation of the beds from the equally big bathroom which brings a sense of privacy. The bathroom comes with a bathtub and a separate shower.

The bedroom opens directly onto the balcony, where the private dip pool beckon.
Lexis Suites Penang not only stands out as the only resort in the island that boasts the luxury and convenience of a private dip pool, but also a steam room located right beside for the complete in-suite pampering experience.
Later I went for a complimentary guided walk through the resort facilities. The resort has a range of meeting spaces, banquet ballrooms and facilities.
The Hibiscus Grand Ballroom measuring 5,960 sq ft can accommodate up to 800 persons theater style for functions such as Chinese banquet, Western buffet and set menu services besides traditional Malay hidang services.
The main facilities are mostly located on level eight. Guests can sing their hearts out at the Starz Karaoke, while the young ones can while away their time in a safe environment at Kidzworld. For those wanting to stay fit, there’s a gymnasium and a swimming pool too.
There is a sand beach located behind the resort and its pretty convenient to head down for a dip or enjoy the sun and watersports.

For some unwinding, the relaxing atmosphere of the Sky Lite Bar on the 24th floor is the best spot. Perched on the highest level at the resort, the bar offers selection of beverages and light bites with awesome view.

Dining at Lexis Suites Penang is at Umi Japanese Restaurant and Roselle Coffee House – both pork free outlets. Umi Japanese Restaurant adjacent to the concierge has indoor seating and private rooms. The restaurant offers many interesting Japanese cuisine with some unusual dishes. You will see more info of my Umi dinner outing here.
In the morning, buffet breakfast awaits guests at Roselle Coffee House. There is also a couple of themed buffet dinner options besides a range of international and local delicacies from the all-day a la carte menu. Located on the mezzanine floor, the coffee house sits a capacity of 250 pax.
