Amazing Thai Cuisine Buffet Dinner & Loy Krathong Celebration at Amari Spice Penang
In collaboration with Amari Bangkok and Royal Thai Consulate, Penang, Amari Spice Penang recently hosted the launching of the Amazing Thai Cuisine Buffet Dinner & the Loy Krathong Celebration.
Possibly one of Thailand’s best known festivals, the annual Loy Krathong Celebration which is also known as Thailand’s Festival of Lights is a means of letting off the floating krathong to carry the hopes, wishes, and gratitude of individuals.

Held at the all-day dining restaurant Amaya Food Gallery, the launching of the Amazing Thai Cuisine & the Loy Krathong Celebration and was held with the presence of Mr Noorazzudin Omar, the General Manager of Amari SPICE Penang, invited guests and media. Also gracing the event was Royal Thai Consulate- General of Penang, Mr Raschada Jiwalai.
Mr Noorazzudin Omar and Mr Raschada Jiwalai launched the Amari SPICE Penang’s Herbs Garden which showcases two pots of Thai Holy Basil from the garden of Mr Raschada Jiwalai. The Thai Holy Basil plant is a rare basil species in Malaysia and Mr Raschada Jiwalai served up the popular home-cooked dish “Gai Phad Kraprow (Thai Holy Basil Chicken) with the basil leaves.
For the Amazing Thai Cuisine Buffet Dinner, Amari Bangkok’s Thai Chef Poltap Paktarapantanon (also known as Chef NOT) and Amari SPICE Penang’s culinary team led by Executive Sous Chef Yusry Yusoff prepared a selection of traditional Thai dishes, street food, local delicacies. The buffet dinner runs from 25th November 2023 to 16th December 2023.
The Amazing Thai Cuisine Buffet Dinner is available from Monday to Saturday from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm at Amaya Food Galllery at RM 148 nett per person, and RM 108 nett per child (6-12 years) and senior citizen (60 years and above). Diners are eligible to participate in the Amazing Thai Cuisine contest and stand a chance to win a 3-day/2-night stay in Amari Bangkok.

There is the seafood live station offering succulent prawns, flower crabs, scallops, and clams. Additionally, there is the spread of Thai salad such as the Yam Maeng Kap Hoon (jelly fish), Yam Thua Plu (four angle bean), Yam Hed Ho No (white fungus), Yam Khai Khem (salted egg), and Yam Talay (seafood).
For warm dishes, be prepared to savor the distinctive savory Thai flavors of Tomyam Soup, and seafood and chicken curries. The buffet also offers an array of roast meat and poultry. The Seua Rong Hai (grilled Thai Crying Tiger Beef) is a favourite, savor on its own flavors or with the many dipping sauces – bbq, creamy garlic, and black pepper.
On the beverage side, there are the specialty of Thai milk tea, coffee and tea to go with the meal. For dessert, the menu offers sweet choices like Tub Tim Krob, Steamed Tapioca with coconut, besides the Mung Bean Thai Custard, Green Tea Flavored Cream Caramel, and the inviting Chocolate Fondue.
The Tub Tim Krob is particularly enjoyable with its water chestnut wrapped in red tapioca flour and served with jackfruit and creamy coconut milk.
