For this 2023 Ramadan. G Hotel Kelawai invites everyone to join in and celebrate the flavors of Malay heritage with the Iftar Buffet Dinner theme at Spoon. The berbuka puasa buffet dinner running from 24th March till 21st April 2023 showcases a varied and inventive menu of traditional Malay and Asian cuisine.
A lavish spread of food on the table
Enjoy the relaxed ambience and start off with some dates or a bowl of bubur lambuk as well. The latter, a creamy porridge boiled with coconut milk and some signature G element spices comes in flavor such as chicken and beef.
The highlight is the lively and colorful ulam-ulaman – raw local Malay salads. Kerabu Kacang Botol, and Kerabu Lautan are offered with six varieties of condiments such as the sambal belacan and sambal cincaluk (fermented small shrimps).

At the show kitchen, expect to find live cooking stations serving up dishes like char koay teow, mee mamak, curry mee, teh tarik, and panggang seafood. For the ‘Middle Eastern’ experience, try the shawerma – a dish of chicken meat with tomato, cucumber, and lettuce encased in pita bread and soft roll.

Furthermore, there is the carving station featuring G’s famous Kambing Golek, marinated with black pepper, shallots, garlic, cumin and many other ingredients. Roasted tender, the meat flavored with herbs is served with black pepper sauce, coleslaw, minted yoghurt, and brown sauce.

For the main course, they have meat and seafood curries. Specialties include daging masak hitam (a spicy dish of dry beef), puyuh masak madu, prawn sambal, kambing kuzi, pajeri terung, ikan masin nenas lemak, tandoori chicken, masalla potato, and more. The savory and spicy dishes are served with steamed white rice apart from the colorful nasi hujan panas.

Next in the buffet dessert line-up comes the traditional Malay kuih muih where diners can enjoy kuih talam, ondeh-ondeh, dodol, fresh fruits, and more. Along this colourful spread would be cakes and puddings, and one not to be missed is G Hotel’s signature Durian Cheesecake, prepared with durian puree pulp and cream cheese.

Guests can enjoy the Iftar Buffet Dinner (6.30pm -10.30pm) at RM138 nett per adult. Senior citizen gets a 30% discount while children between six to 12 years old are given 50% off from the price.
