Penang Eastern & Oriental Hotel’s Chinese New Year Festive Menus
Come this Chinese New Year, gather the family for a meal at the opulent Eastern & Oriental Hotel in George Town, Penang. You will find just the menu to please in ushering in a roaring new lunar year, be it a steamboat reunion dinner, banquet set, or buffet dinner.
For those who wish to go for the banquet set menu, the hotel offers three packages which include free flow of Chinese tea and fruit punch. Priced from RM188++, RM288++ to RM388++ per person, the sets are available for a minimum of 12 pax.
Guests taking up the Chinese New Year Abundance Menu (RM288++) will get to savor tempting dishes. Taking center stage on the table is the Fresh Salmon & Sliced Abalone Yee Sang, followed by Double Boiled Sea Treasure Herbal Soup which boasts the goodness of fish maw, dried scallops, Chinese cabbage, and goji berries.
Then there is also the E&O Signature Roasted Duck with thin skin and succulent meat, Steamed Garoupa, Wok Fried Broccoli, Golden Fried King Prawns, and “Hong Kong” Style Ee Fu Noodles served with prawn, and sea cucumber in a crab meat gravy.
For dessert, there is the Cendol Cake. Topped with sweet red beans, the cake is swirled with brown sugar syrup and coconut cream. This is definitely a break away from the typical traditional dessert that you will get at the Chinese banquet menu.
