Connect To Nature @The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, Ipoh
My journey towards a renewed self begins at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat recently with an invited night stay in one of their new Lake Villas.
Situated in Tambun in the Malaysian state of Perak, the beautiful eco wellness destination with acres of lush full green hills and gardens bring on the real meaning of relaxation.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Banjaran’s General Manager Alex Castaldi, after which we were served with the welcome drink. “For accommodation, guests can stay in three different villas,” Castaldi says.
Guests can choose between three different configurations – Garden Villa, Water Villa and the recently opened Lake Villa.
Surrounded by pristine water and foliage, our Lake Villa offers hillside serenity. With a terrace overlooking the lake, the room is complete with king-sized bed, Bose speakers and everything you need for a retreat. Coupled with its own plunge pool and hot tub, it is convenience with a touch of privacy and luxury.
The Banjaran is also home to two restaurants: the all-day dining restaurant Pomelo, and the fine dining Jeff’s Cellar with spectacular limestone cave setting.
By the night, I got to join in the M. Chapoutier Wine Dinner event at Jeff’s Cellar. The event was a parade of distinct flavors and beautiful presentation, served with red and white wines from appellations across the Rhone region in France. Everything was beautifully presented with no shortage of flavours. I enjoyed the foie gras dish paired with a glass of Crozes Hermitage ‘Les Meysonniers’ Rouge.

The attention to detail at the Lake Villa was impeccable. A stay for the night comes with complimentary access to the Lost World Of Tambun Theme Park besides an energizing breakfast at Pomelo, an all-day dining restaurant with a good mix of international and local cuisine.

For relaxation, there is Banjaran’s Wellness Programme which takes a holistic approach to wellness with the incorporation of healthy meals, exercise and treatments. Expect to find treatments from ancient ethnic traditions of indigenous Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures, using both pure and natural ingredients.
Besides working out in the fitness center, guests can join in the many holistic exercise sessions. There are also the many caves that provide beautiful backdrop to conduct meditation session.
