The third edition of INPenang Awards 2017, organized by CHTNetwork ran to resounding success. The event held in The Wembley Penang, acknowledged many outstanding Penang people and organizations that have delivered and contributed much to the society.
Present at the event was CHTNetwork founder and Chairman Ch’ng Huck Theng with Guest-of-Honour YB Danny Law Heng Kiang, Penang State EXCO Member for Tourism Development & Culture.
This year’s event had a total of 15 outstanding Penang people and organisations bestowed with the prestigious INPenang Award. A key highlight of the evening was the unveiling of two new award categories for individuals – INPenang International Outstanding Achievers Award and INPenang Lifetime Achievement Award.
Recipients for the Penang International Outstanding Achievers Award were Chef Walter Lee, Nicole Chow, Bernard Yong and Dato Elaine Kang. The Penang Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Tan Seri Dato’ Dr Michael Yeoh Oon Keng.

10 companies and organizations in sectors of travel, hospitality, leisure and health took home the prestigious INPenang Awards 2017:

INPenang Best Transformed Tourist Attraction Award – ENTOPIA
INPenang Top Developer (Southern Penang) Award – Ideal Property Group
INPenang Top Shopping Mall (Northern Penang) Award – Gurney Paragon Mall
INPenang Top Developer (Northern Penang) Award – Ewein Zenith Sdn Bhd
INPenang Best Medical College_University Award – Penang Medical College
INPenang Best New Hotel Award – Vouk Hotel Suites
InPenang Best Advanced Genomics Laboratory Award – GenomixLAB
INPenang Top F&B (Boutique Tea House) Award – Winter Warmers
INPenang Top Museum (Unique Concept) Award – Wonderfood Museum
Guests were served dinner with wine flowing all evening. The Western menu featured Seared Tuna Nicoise, Light Curried Butternut Veloute, Chicken Roulade & Grouper and dessert.

The awards ceremony went on and guests were kept entertained with performances, dazzling fashion show by Anovia Bridal and an auction with proceeds going to charity.
Several bidders at the auction walked away with ‘The Queen’s Collection’ a jewellery piece by Royals Blue, wool carpets from Nasim Carpets, a CORUM Admiral’s Cup Legend 47 watch and exclusive paintings from Penang Art Society.

Ch’ng did well in taking the arduous task of organizing and presenting the INPenang Awards. Having attended two events, I am looking forward to seeing the next one.
