For Ramadhan, The Light Hotel in Seberang Jaya, Penang will feature the Nostalgia Sajian Desa Buffet Ramadhan at their Spice Brasserie from 8th June until 3rd July 2016. The fully Halal restaurant offers seven menus with bountiful spread of traditional Malaysian delicacies mainly, Malay, Chinese and Indian.
There are two types of soup along with assorted bread rolls, traditional bubur lambuk, six live stations – roast and grill, pasta, carvery, noodles, Chinese station and Western favorties.
To start with, go for the appetizer section which includes a range of ulam, salads, kerabu, jeruk, ikan masin, pasembor, takua sumbat with peanut sauce and cold cuts as well as crunchy keropok.
For the mains, there are a whole lot of savory items prepared with generous amount of herbs and spices but never overly spicy hot. Some of the main stream favorites are the sambal udang petai, burung puyuh percik, sotong sumbat pulut, rendang tok, chicken shawarma, kambing vindalo, ayam ros, telur itik masak lemak, gulai gading nangka muda and nasi briyani kambing panggang.
One dish that comes highly recommended is the rendang tok, tender and flavourfully stewed with spices, chili and coconut milk. Another favorite is the spiral-shaped Sri Lanka spring roll, filled with a juicy meat filling.
You will fall in love with the nice warmth flavor and color of the nasi briyani kambing panggang. Selection of toppings for this meaty centerpiece include cashew nuts and raisins.
Other highlights from the buffet include a selection of local fruits and desserts. Pair the Ramadhan kuih-muih with a cup of hot teh tarik for a sweet ending to the meal.
Nostalgia Sajian Desa Buffet Ramadhan is priced at RM79+ for adult, RM48+ for kids and RM60+ for senior citizens. During the promotion period from 8th June till 3rd July 2016, for 10 paying adults, one person eats for free.
Guests can also enjoy early bird voucher at discounted price of RM70nett per person, with purchase made from now till 31st May 2016.
Experience the culture with live performances of Arab, Nasyid and Malay songs by the Rayyan band. For the convenience of Muslim guests, there are also prayer rooms for the performance of Maghrib and Isha’ prayers as well as tarawih.
