Christmas Feasting @G Cafe in G Hotel Gurney, Penang

For this festive season of Christmas, G Cafe at G Hotel Gurney in Penang had prepared a lineup of gourmet treats to feast on. The buffet features festive specialities, with a wide choice of Western and European dishes, local delights and a delectable dessert section.
When it comes to cheeses, favorites like brie, edam and parmesan are available from the cheese board to go along with freshly baked breads and nibbles like crackers, dried fruits and nuts.
At the salad bar is a choice of vegetables, condiments and dressings to make up your own creation.
Tuck into a bowl of soup with baguette. The buffet features warming cream of pumpkin with smoked chicken soup and the flavorful braised dried scallop and crab meat soup.
Moved on to the selections of cold cuts, chilled tiger prawns, scallops and mussels. Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, gari and wasabi are included and these lend a touch of flavor to the natural sweetness of the seafood.
The carvery corner offers a broad variety of carved meats. Traditionalist can enjoy whole roasted turkey with traditional stuffing, complemented by rich apple cranberry sauce.
For those looking for a delicious twist, you can swap the turkey for the scrumptious roasted duck or lamb. Get a few slices of each, some oven-roasted potatoes, capsicum and brussels sprouts and add on a little of the sauces, and you get yourself a wholesome festive dish.

The buffet also tempts with many other flavours. For seafood lovers, there is a spread of seafood au gratin, fish scaloppini, salmon curry, and mussels in saffron with leek and apples.
At the barbeque counter, look forward to some serious meat eating with choices of chicken chop, chorizo and bratwurst sausages, lamb chop and beef steak prepared to your preferred doneness.
You can also indulge in several show kitchen live cooking stations serving Italian fare of pizza and pasta dishes.
For the sweet-toothed, check out the appealing menu of sweet flavours prepared by Award Winning Pastry Chef Tan. There is the colorful array of tempting desserts including crispy pear puff, pineapple tart, bread and butter pudding, strawberry chill cheesecake and cinnamon peach cake.
Not to be missed out is the Christstollen. This traditional German Christmas fruitcake is not only beautifully festive with a layer of powdered sugar but also delicious with plenty of dry fruits.

Assorted Christmas cookies, yule log, macaroon, minced pie, fruitcake, pralines, gingerbread tree and gingerbread house make great gifts for friends and family. These take-home Christmas goodies are sold at the Gingerbread House off the hotel lobby.
Also available from the festive take away menu is the Christmas Roast Turkey Set. Priced at RM388++, the set comes with roasted potatoes, garden vegetables, cranberry sauce and giblet gravy.
