G Hotel Kelawai Topping Off Ceremony

25 April 2014, marked the topping off ceremony of G Hotel Kelawai, Penang. The RM200mil hotel which is a new chapter in the G Hotel brand is in its final stages of construction and is targeted to open in the last quarter of 2014.
Located at the junction of College Drive (Persiaran Maktab) and Kelawai Road, the modern and trendy hotel set the stage for exclusive and extraordinary experiences for both business and holiday travellers.
The “topping off ceremony” held on the 23rd floor is lead by General Manager of G Hotel; Mr Michael Hanratty, Director of G Hotel; Mr Phuah Choon Meng and Mr Phuah Ken Lin, Director of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board; Mr Harun Pilus, Penang Global Tourism; Mr Jason Sim along with Guest of Honor, Chief Minister of Penang; YAB Lim Guan Eng and Minister of Tourism and Cultural Development; YB Danny Law Heng Kiang.
Michael Hanratty provided the media, bloggers and invited corporate guests an overview of the luxury hotel with its tagline “Style…Redefined”.
“G Hotel which opened since 2007 is reaching another milestone with the new G Hotel Kelawai. The 23-story hotel will feature 208 guest rooms with innovative designs that comprise of 143 Deluxe rooms, 63 Executive Rooms and two suites of which all are exquisitely designed with modern and stylish furniture. The hotel takes care to the needs of the guest, with all the rooms equipped with bodycare products by Australian brand Appelles,” Michael Hanratty said.

There will be a choice of three (yet-to-be-named) trendy and stylish food and beverage outlets – a coffee house, lobby lounge and a chill out bar.
Updated on February 2015: Spoon Café located on level two sees the debut of Sous Chef Ketut Gede Dodi, who puts French, Indonesian and International cuisines on the menu.
G Hotel Kelawai accommodates a rooftop infinity pool on the 23rd floor, offering interesting view of the iconic Penang Bridge, Goddess of Mercy statue in Kek Lok Si Temple, Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple and the Immaculate Conception Church.
There will be a bar for guests to indulge and unwind.
According to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, G Hotel Kelawai with its strategic location on Kelawai road (close proximity to Gurney Plaza, Gurney Paragon Mall and the famous Gurney Drive Hawker Center), is a welcoming place for visiting travellers.
Michael Hanratty said they will also be rebranding their current G Hotel, renaming it to G Hotel Gurney. The hotel will be in sync with the new G Hotel Kelawai. Both the hotels with five-star facilities will offer the epitome of style.
