CK Lam in an eventful day exploring the suburbs of Perth!
Leaving Caversham Wildlife Park, we took a pleasant drive to The Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA) located at the nearby Hillarys Boat Harbour, Sorrento Quay. We were amazed by the number of yacht and boats docking at the jetty pen.
The place with many restaurants, specialty shops & cafes
A view to behold with the sheer number of yacht and boats!
It was an enjoyable underwater journey in The Aquarium of Western Australia. This aquarium is the largest in the country, with its main attraction of the longest underwater tunnel in Australia.
The colorful jelly fish swimming around the glass tank was both amazing and mesmerizing as it parades through the shades of color light bulbs that illuminate the tank.
The elegant jellyfish ‘dancing’ in the water!

The mesmerising colors of the corals
The sharks were a bit frightening though it was a great relief to know we are protected well with the think glass panel. It was just the sight of their long sharp teeth that makes one start getting the shivers!
The other thing we love was the ability to touch and feel the star fish and the stingrays at the interactive pool. The ‘belly part’ of the star fish was soft and spongy while its back was hard and rough. Staffs are stationed at the interactive pool to answer queries and guide visitors on the proper manner to handle the sea creatures.
Tips: You can reach AQWA by train. Catch the northbound Joondalup line train at Perth City Railway Station to Warwick Train Station and then take a bus (NO.423) to AQWA.

After visiting all these places of interest, we make our way to Little Caesars Pizzeria in Mandaring for dinner. The place is owned by well known Master pizza chef Theo Kalogeracos who has emerged champion in many pizza competitions. His past media publications are displayed all around the interior of the restaurant.
The restaurant is popular with the locals who are willing to take a 45 minutes drive from Perth City just to have a bite of the pizza.
Little Caesars packed with diners
The pizzeria was filled with aroma of fresh bread and melted cheese. I was tempted to sample the entire menu, which made my choices very difficult when choosing the toppings. We ended up indulging in the pizzas that were entered in competitions by Little Caesars.
Our first pizza was the Oyster Kilpatrick which is one of their awards winning pizza. The combination of bacon, smoked oysters, onion, parsley, Worcestershire sauce and mozzarella cheese was just awesome.
A squeeze of lemon juice
It was amazingly delicious, deep flavored and the ingredients complimented each other very well.
Pizza hot off the oven with plenty of toppings
There were a lot of ingredients in the Greek Lamb Pizza – lamb marinated in Rosemary, caramelized onion, fetta, kalamata olives, lemon juice, cracked black pepper and Tzatziki (garlic sauce). The sauce was excellent and the crust was slightly charred.
The pizza is good with the added Tzatziki
We save room for the dessert – Apple Strudel. This is not the usual Apple Strudel that you get from the bakeries; it is in fact a pizza dessert! This sweet warm pizza comes with filling of custard, apples, sultanas, cinnamon and dusted with icing sugar. I really got addicted to the fruity goodness of this dessert pizza!
The three pizzas teamed up with our drinks of Coca-cola came out to around AUD40 (RM125).
I really enjoyed the pizzas from this chef, and can’t wait to go back on my next trip!
