Sesame & Soy @ G Hotel Penang – Chinese Fine Dining
From the ala carte menu, we got to taste succulent lamb, duck, fish and prawn in hor fun.
The Rack Lamb priced @ RM44 was really tender and delicious. Served with plenty of vegetables, it was definitely a twist of East meets West.
A beautiful combination of flavors was the Roasted Duck and lychee (RM22). The sweet taste of the lychee fruit integrated well with the meaty pieces of duck.
The River Prawn Hor Fun @ RM26 was topped with a large river prawn and drenched with plenty of egg gravy. Quite similar to our local Wat Tan Hor Fun, the taste of this dish was deliciously unique with the wonderfully rich flavor of the river prawn.
Steamed Cod Fish @ RM38 – We particularly enjoyed the pairing of the cod fish with ginger, garlic and kei chee. It was a pleasant alternative to the one baked with char siew sauce.
For the sweet finish, we enjoyed the Kaya Fritters (RM12) up to the very last spoon.
Although my in-laws were surprised at the start, they kind of like the first time experience of fine dining style and tasting Chinese cuisine in fusion style. All of us give the meal a thumbs-up and have secured a table here for our family Chinese New Year Reunion dinner. More on the Chinese New Year set menu can be seen here.
