Penang Thai Food – Lang Sae Lee in Tan Jetty, Weld Quay
We thoroughly enjoyed the Deep-fried fish which was cooked in a wonderfully rich spicy sauce with fragrant curry leaves.
Clear Seafood Tom Yam Soup – this sourish white Tom Yam has the distinctive hint of lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and galangal. Garnished with fresh coriander, the soup has a combination of seafood and abalone mushroom.
We also had the Spicy Petai Chicken which I personally find it to be on the oily side. However, the taste was delicious and went well with white rice!
We added in a plate of Stir Fried Pad Thai with a combination of bean sprouts, egg, squid and prawns. The noodles were well loosen up and have an excellent texture and a rather sweet taste!
The final dish was the deep Fried Kangkung, crunchy and delightfully addictive.
If you’re looking for a reasonable-priced restaurant with delicious Thai food and seaside surroundings, do make a visit to Lang Sae Lee. Look out for the entrance to the Tan Jetty along Weld Quay. This entrance will lead you to a wooden stilts walkway leading all the way to Madam Lee’s house which is the last house facing the sea. Click here for the Map Location.
P.S. Good to know the tide before you go or you might have to face the smell of the low tide but that is also a great time for photo shoot as you get to see little mud fish and birds.
