Hainanese Delights Restaurant @ 1926 Heritage Hotel Penang
Hainanese-Style Mushroom Soup – This is another of their specialty that comes with ingredients of button mushrooms, chicken meat, liver & gizzard and tang hoon (glass noodles). This soup was very popular back then at the coffee house of the Garden Inn Hotel on Anson Road. It has been a while since I enjoyed this dish, and indulging it here really evoked plenty of nostalgic memories for me.
RM12 Per Portion
Last but not least, two plates of fried noodles… the Hor Fun was fried dried while the yellow noodles were stir-fried with seafood. The condiment of sambal was aromatic and added plenty of flavor to both the noodles.
Thanks to Lingzie for introducing this hidden jewel and arranging this lunch outing which included Big Boys Oven and Chef Ben who was in Penang conducting their baking classes. Aside from the wonderful dishes, we also had Weasel Coffee from Vietnam (RM8) that comes with homemade treat of biscotti together with freshly made buns by Chef Ben. Yummy!
The bill set us back with RM377.40 for the fourteen of us which included 5% Tax. It was an enjoyable meal and definitely will keep us coming back! Click here for the Map Location.
There are plenty of parking lots inside the hotel compound
